Smart and Skilled Programs

Smart and Skills is a reform of the NSW vocational education and training system. It's helping people get the skills they need to find a job and advance their careers.

Smart and Skilled provide eligible students with:

  • an entitlement to government-subsidised training up to and including Certificate III

  • government funding for higher-level courses (Certificate IV and above) in targeted priority areas.

* Training offered under Smart and Skilled is subsidised by the NSW Government. Traineeship / apprenticeship fees and Entitlement and Targeted Priority fees are calculated assuming no RPL or Credit Transfer has been requested. Lower pricing may apply if an RPL or Credit Transfer claim is requested. Fee for service prices are available upon request. Certificate II and III level Entitlement qualifications are available to concessions at a subsidised maximum charge of $160/$240

If you answered yes to all of the above questions, you are eligible to study under Smart and Skilled!

How do I enrol?​

​

You can now apply to QCA with enrolment forms including a consent/declaration form to enter your personal details int he Smart and Skilled portal. Don't hesitate to contact your QCA Consultant for assistance!

You will need to provide a copy of your passport or photo ID and medicare card to enrol, and any relevant visa or concession cards, if applicable.

I've enrolled, now what happens?​

​

The details you are provided during the enrolment process will be entered into the Smart and Skilled Calculator. On successful completion, you will be allocated a Commitment ID. Your student contribution fee will be determined by the information you have provided. A Notification of Enrolment will then be created. 

​

Your Notification of Enrolment will be sent to the email address that you have provided*. This email will include:

  • A Smart and Skilled Commitment ID and quote for your student contribution fee
    AND
  • An invoice from QCA.

*This process may take up to three weeks.

Your QCA Trainer will then contact you OR your employer OR your job active to arrange your first training session. At this session, you will be given your resources and your trainer will explain what is required from you.
